周树堂,男,博士,教授,博士生导师

2002年毕业于加拿大皇后大学,获生物化学与分子生物学博士学位。2003-2004年在皇后大学蛋白质功能中心和生物化学系从事博士后研究,2005年起在美国杜克大学任助理研究员、助理教授。2009年入选中国科学院“百人计划”,2010年始担任中科院动物研究所研究员、博士生导师、研究组长,2011年获“百人计划”择优支持。2012年获美国PRS Young Investigator Award。2015年2月被聘为河南大学“攀登计划”特聘教授。

长期从事昆虫生殖发育调控和植物保护研究,近年的研究成果发表在PNAS,PLoS Genetics,Insect Biochemistry and Molecular Biology,Insect Molecular Biology等国际知名SCI期刊,被Faculty of 1000推荐。出版专著1部,授权专利3项。

目前主持参加国家自然科学基金、973课题等,担任中国昆虫学会理事,基因组专业委员会委员,发育与遗传专业委员会副主任,《昆虫学报》、Journal of Allergy and Therapy编委。

研究领域

生长发育快、繁殖量大、蜕皮变态是昆虫的重要特征。快速生长发育导致大量取食,繁殖量大能使种群数量迅速增加,通过蜕皮使个体迅速增大,通过变态获得飞翔和生殖能力,从而扩大了生活范围,增强了适应能力,增加了害虫危害植物的程度。昆虫发育与生殖是机体内分泌调节和基因相互作用的复杂生物学过程,与植物和环境等因子密切关联。

研究团队综合运用组学、分子生物学、生物信息学、细胞生物学、遗传学等手段,研究昆虫生殖与发育的分子机制,昆虫与植物的互作,以及昆虫对逆境应激的分子机理。
